Artificial Intelligence for the Legal Sector
General Course Objective
Upon completion of the course, participants will understand and apply artificial intelligence tools in a practical, ethical, and efficient manner within the legal profession. The program aims to optimize information analysis, document drafting, legal argumentation, project management, and resource control through the responsible use of AI technologies.
Program Modules
Certification Requirements
To obtain the diploma, participants must:
- Attend at least 80% of the sessions, and
- Complete and present a practical exercise applying AI tools, which will be presented to the group.
Module 1: Foundations of Artificial Intelligence
Topics
- Types of artificial intelligence
- The value of data and privacy protection
- AI governance and risk taxonomy
Specific Objective
Enable participants to understand the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, identify its main types and applications in the legal sector, and recognize the risks associated with AI use—particularly those related to data protection, privacy, and governance—in order to ensure responsible use aligned with professional best practices.
Module 2: Prompt Engineering
Topics
- Inputs, instructions, context, processing, and outputs
- Interaction, iteration, and refinement; Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Context creation and writing in Markdown
Specific Objective
Develop the ability to design and structure effective prompts by understanding the logic of inputs, instructions, context, processing, and outputs. Participants will apply interaction, iteration, and RAG techniques to optimize results, while using Markdown to organize and communicate information clearly, accurately, and professionally.
Module 3: Contract Analysis and Document Summarization
Topics
- Prompts for contract review
- Identification of key clauses
- Document summarization
Specific Objective
Enable participants to use generative AI tools to analyze contracts and legal documents by designing effective prompts that identify key clauses, risks, and obligations, while generating clear and structured summaries that support legal decision-making.
Module 4: AI for Professional Projects
Topics
- Use of ChatGPT, Gemini, and similar tools
- Development of professional projects using generative AI
Specific Objective
Enable participants to integrate generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Gemini) into the planning, design, and development of professional projects, strengthening deliverable structuring, operational efficiency, and the quality of outcomes without replacing the participant’s own critical analysis and professional judgment.
Module 5: Legal Argumentation and AI-Assisted Presentation Design
Topics
- AI-assisted legal argument construction
- Application of IRAC (Issue, Rule, Analysis, Conclusion) and CREAC (Conclusion, Rule, Explanation, Application, Conclusion) methodologies
- Presentation design using Gemini or GAMMA
Specific Objective
Strengthen participants’ legal argumentation skills through the use of AI tools to structure solid legal reasoning, applying methodologies such as IRAC and CREAC, while designing professional presentations that effectively communicate legal analysis, strategies, and conclusions.
Module 6: AI for Budgeting and Operational Cost Control
Topics
- AI-assisted budgeting
- Automation of expense and time tracking
- Final project presentations using GAMMA
Specific Objective
Enable participants to use AI tools for budgeting, expense management, and time management in legal projects, integrating automation and data visualization. Participants will present a final structured project demonstrating the practical use of AI in their professional activities.
